Ear aches is one of the most irritating and painful illnesses. It completely affects the hearing prowess of a person as well as impacts his/her general well being. The pain in the ear is called otalgia and is generally caused by an infection in the ear including the outer ear or the middle ear. But ear ache can also occur due to the infections in nearby regions of the ear that affect the ear nerves. Symptoms of Ear Ache: Ear ache symptoms are almost the same in both the adults and infants with varying degree. The infants might react to the ear pain in a different manner as compared to the adults as the former is unable to voice his/her plight. Symptoms amongst the infants are very difficult to detect as they are unable to properly express their condition. The most common symptoms in young children can be unusual irritability, difficulty in sleeping, tugging at one or both ears, fever, fluid drainage from ear and unresponsiveness to quiet sounds or other signs of hearing difficulty. Likewise the symptoms in the adults may include fever, hearing loss, feeling of a blockage in the ear and slight dizziness.
